This
is one of our most popular
skeletons!
|
|
This three dimensional
reconstruction was sculpted to the exact
dimensions of a rarely found nearly
complete skeleton. Noted sculptor and
pterosaur expert David Peters created the
original from which our molds were made, with
guidance from leading paleontologists. The
specimen can be posed in flight, standing,
walking, lunging, or in takeoff pose, and makes
a very dramatic display when several specimens
are grouped in flight and in a variety of
poses.

In addition, an in situ
panel mount is also available, cast from the
original skeleton. This is not a composite!
|
All our
marine reptile, fish, and flying reptile specimens can
be mounted from the ceiling for spectacular display
without consuming valuable floor space.
Exhibited together, the in situ
cast, three dimensional reconstruction, and life
restoration make a powerful demonstration of the
difficult work of interpreting what an animal looked
like, with only a pile of crushed bones as a guide.
This specimen measures
has an 11 foot wingspan and 5 foot long body (3.3 meters x 1.5
meters). The
skull measures 87 cm (34 inches) long.
