For 125 years, these vicious denizens of the world’s oceans were displayed as two-dimensional wall mounts. Finally, with the introduction of this 3-d cast, the full effect of the gaping mouth and huge teeth can be appreciated. 3-d also affords installation without using valuable floor or wall space. exhibited as an individual specimen or part of a school, the display can also include prey species such as small mosasaurs, sea turtles, or other fish. ask about multiple specimen packages.
The world’s only free standing, three- dimensional copies of Xiphactinus are available only from TPI in 12.5 (3.8 meters) and 17 foot (5.2 meters) specimens.
Many years of collecting and study went into the creation of this most spectacular giant carnivorous fish skeleton. Cast from a complete, disarticulated specimen, the world’s only free standing, three-dimensional copies of Xiphactinus are available only from TPI in 12.5 (3.8 meters) and 17 foot (5.2 meter) specimens. These feature the most accurate anatomical detail possible. Considerable assistance in this regard was provided by Dr. J.D. Stewart, LACM; Dr. John Maisey, AMNH; Dr. Steve Cumbaa, CMN; and others, during the years of research and discovery.

Xiphactinus Stomach Contents
Xiph 17 stomach contents.jpg (40778 bytes)
Xiphactinus stomach contents cast.
Several Xiphactinus specimens include stomach contents, including the most famous, which you can see at the Sternberg Museum of Natural History in Hays, Kansas. Stomach contents were found with this original skeleton and consist of the disarticulated remains of a Gillicus.  The original specimen from which this cast was made, was discovered by Mike Everhart, who operates the award-winning website:  www.oceansofkansas.com. These remains were molded and cast in their original matrix, with three vertebrae from the Xiphactinus in the same slab.  A cast of the slab containing these stomach contents is available to display with the three-dimensional skeleton at extra cost.
