/ Preparator
Position Available: Full-time permanent position
open immediately for an individual with education to the BS, MS or PhD
level and experience in the field and the lab. Field experience in
vertebrate exploration, excavation, preparation and restoration is
required. Experience in Judith River, Hell Creek, and/or Niobrara
formations or their equivalents and lab experience as preparator using
micro blasters, Chicago pneumatics, Aros, Paleobond & epoxies a big
plus. Prior experience at molding/casting/welding & related
metalwork, vertebrate skeletal mounting and woodworking is also a
plus. Must be able to work well as part of a team, withstand all the
usual rigors of field life and demonstrate outstanding ability in lab
techniques. Position includes participation in the planning,
development and setup/de-install of new traveling exhibitions and in
permanent exhibit planning and execution as well.
The successful candidate will be working on some of the most
exciting, unique vertebrates ever discovered in the late Cretaceous
continental and marine deposits. Ability to travel and spend moderate
amounts of time (up to 3 weeks at a time) in the field and on the road
is required. Successful candidate will work for Triebold
Paleontology, Inc. at the facilities of the Rocky Mountain Dinosaur
Resource Center, 201 South Fairview Street in Woodland Park, Colorado
80863, about 15 miles west of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Field work
is done primarily in SD, ND, KS and MT at present. Benefits are
