Wimahl chinookensis

$0.00

This rare kentriodontid skeleton, discovered on the north bank of the Colombia River, is the most complete fossil dolphin recovered from the Pacific northwest. Its generic name, Wimahl, is the Chinook people's name for the Columbia River. The original skeleton, consisting of a complete skull and vertebral column, as well as parts of the pectoral girdle, was painstakingly restored by the TPI team as part of the Burke Museum's new building project at the University of Washington. While the original skeleton remains in the Burke Museum collection, we can offer casts of this important porpoise skeleton.
